The lake at Gateway Park Campground in Hillsdale MI

The snow may still be falling and the camp chairs packed away, but we’re already dreaming of sunny days by the lake, weekend cookouts, and cannonballs into the pool. It’s official—the countdown to camping season is on, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to Gateway Park Campground!

Whether you’ve been with us for years or you’re planning your very first visit, here’s a peek at what you can expect when we open the gates again in mid-April 2025.

Family Fun, the Gateway Way

Our goal has always been simple: create a fun, relaxing, and unforgettable experience for campers of all ages. This season, you can count on:

  • Swimming in the lake and pool
  • Fishing mornings and floating afternoons
  • The bouncing joy of our jumping pillow
  • Creative time in arts & crafts
  • Unplugged fun at the playground
  • Weekend activities for the whole family

Whether you’re here for a weekend or the whole summer, there’s always something happening—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Back for 2025: Timbers Eats & Treats

If you’ve never tried our campground-owned food truck, let 2025 be your moment! Timbers Eats & Treats will be back on weekends, serving up slow-smoked meats, mouthwatering sides, and kid-friendly snacks that campers love. It’s a true local favorite—and a great reason not to cook after a long day of fun.

New menu additions will roll out this summer, so stay tuned for that smokin’ good news.

Mark Your Calendar: Water Weekend + Hillsdale County Fair

We’ve got tons of fun weekends planned, but Water Weekend in August always makes waves! Expect splashes, laughs, and maybe even a surprise or two.

And don’t forget, the Hillsdale County Fair is a must-visit in the fall. Gateway Park makes the perfect home base for your fair fun—just bring your appetite and comfy shoes.

Campfire Snack of the Month: Mini S’mores Dippers

How-To:

  1. Fill foil cups with a few marshmallows and some chocolate chips.
  2. Set them near the edge of the fire to melt (or wrap in foil and place on grill grates).
